Pelmeni Deutschsprachige Erstaufführung
A disturbing triptych of Russian society: it begins like a rustic folk play and ends as a nightmarish grotesque, with the Russian national dish pelmeni playing the leading role. However, the play also points beyond Russia: it reflects the desolation of a society ‘whose soul has been destroyed, which no longer has any values, which has only one thing left: food’ (FAZ). A play by Vladimir Sorokin
